A carnival atmosphere will descend on Arklow on Saturday 6th July in the grounds of Arklow Celtic Football club at 1.30pm, where Ireland’s top performing Marching Bands, Showbands, and Drum Corps will compete in the first competition of the 2013 season. This will also mark the 25th Anniversary of the Irish Marching Bands Association and will be hosted by Inbhear Mor Marchers in association with IMBA, DCE (Drum Corps Europe) and Arklow Seabreeze Festival.

This will form part of Arklow Seabreeze Festival’s celebration of The Gathering and all participating groups will march from Arklow Celtic Grounds to St. Peter’s National School, after competitions have finished, and a “Parade of Colour” will grace the streets of Arklow. All groups and organisations in the town are encouraged to “BE PART OF IT” and march with the Marching Groups from St.Saviour’s Church, Coolgreaney Road, dress in your club or organisations colours and showcase all the talented groups and organisations in the town.Meeting at 4pm for non competiting groups.

Arklow Seabreeze Festival are delighted to announce the inaugural “Seabreeze Flyer” Pigeon Racing Competition as part of this year’s festival, which will take place on Saturday 20th July (weather permitting). Upwards of 500 birds will compete for the coveted title with the winner being announced on Saturday 20th July. The birds will fly from Pilmore Beach, Waterford, and  back to Arklow, which is a distance of approx. 96 miles

A fantastic opportunity for the public to get involved is by purchasing a line for €3 per line (bird), where you can estimate the fastest flyer home to Arklow. The first bird home will net the person who correctly identified the winner a prize of €200, 2nd bird home will carry a prize of €100 and 3rd bird home will be awarded €50.

Lines are available throughout the town of Arklow and the usual locations and available at present, but are guaranteed to sell quickly, so purchase early. Contact “It’s Fresh”, “La Chef” for further information.

Mixing elements of rock and pop, Rebecca Gresty is emerging as one of Ireland’s hottest new acts. The 7-piece band, including a 3-piece brass section, formed in mid-2010, provides an explosive live show not to be missed. Rebecca has received fantastic feedback and lots of radio-play all around Ireland and in the UK aswell, including Niall Toner’s Show on RTE Radio 1, Declan Meehan’s Show on East Coast Radio and on Amazing Radio UK. She has also played at Knockanstockan, Kinsale Arts Week and venues all around Dublin. Moving from strength to strength, Rebecca’s debut album ”Mad At The Seems” was released on the 29th February 2012. ”Gresty delivers the goods like a captain leading the troops in full swing down the highway and feeling their way through the bushes of unfamiliar terrain” – Here Comes The Flood.

Top stage – The Kilkennys


Renowned for their incredible musicianship and vocal abilities, The Kilkennys have gained a reputation for revitalising traditional Irish music and adding their own touch of youth and energy.


Forming at a very young age, over the last 14 years The Kilkennys have toured all over Ireland and have taken their music as far afield as Las Vegas, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.


The band have almost 3 million YouTube hits, the largest Facebook page in their home city and a schedule of shows for 2013 all over the world.

Davey Cashin, Rob Campion, Tommy Mackey and Davey Long are excited about bringing their infectious Irish music to a worldwide audience in 2013 espcially Arklow Seabreeze Festival on Sunday 21st July.

Middle Stage – Tell no Foxx


Formed only a year ago the four band members of TELL NO FOXX have spent endless hours cooked up in their rehearsal space working on an indie rock sound that is expansive yet tightly focused.
It seems to be working as the band go from strength to strength on the live circuit.

The next logical step is to put all this hard work to tape the results of which will be heard this summer as TELL NO FOXX release their debut EP in June 2013.

The Band has been selected to play Other Voices and the show was streamed live courtesy of BT Infinity at 11pm February 9th from The Gweedore Derry.

Johnny,Luke,Brian,Jay members of the band hail from Wicklow and will play the Middle Stage on Sunday night 21st July at the Arklow Seabreeze Festival.




Lower stage – Children of the Son


Children Of The Son are three brothers Max, Art & Jack.


Nick Kelly in the Irish Independent said ‘Max’s way with a riff could knock the top hat off Slash!’.

Slash has since become a great friend through Iconic Rock Photographer Robert M Knight.

Robert is coming back over from LA on July 3rd to film & photograph the band.
