Carnival Atmosphere is Arklow bound

This year’s Arklow Seabreeze Festival is set to bring the town to life for the month of July culminating in a weekend packed full of a variety of free entertainment and events from Sunday 7th - Sunday 21st.

The search is on for this year’s Seabreeze Princess and Mr. Seabreeze who will shortly be ready to officiate at the many festival highlights that will keep the town brimming with carnival atmosphere.

The Festival has been a highlight in people's diaries for many years and has provided top class live entertainment, eye popping spectacles and the best of festival atmosphere making it a credit to the community.

Arklow has seen some huge national acts entertain crowds in town over the years including the American Drifters, Brendan Boyer and Brush Shiels, The Fureys and Jedward, who attracted just under 20,000 fans to the seaside town of Arklow.

Family entertainment forms, as always an important part of the festival and the younger fans will enjoy an the many family-oriented events as well as nightly Carnival in the Main Street Car Park.

Live Music has always formed a large part of the Seabreeze Festival and this year is no different. They include Abbaesque, The Wise Guys, Finch, The Navvies, After Hours and Deja Vu.

The Swinging Pubs contest will see the cream of Arklow’s amateur talent compete to represent their local hostelry in the final which takes place on July 18th.

Meanwhile the organising committee has done a great job of securing a wide variety of musical acts to perform live on stage on Main Street over the main festival weekend – check out the events listing.
